Success navigators are available on campus and online to help you meet new challenges and stay on track as you begin your college career. Our team is a point of contact for all first-year students who have questions or concerns. We aim to help you navigate M State so you can be successful!

 As a first-year students, you can expect navigators to check in with you throughout the year.

Success navigators can:

  • Help you find resources to prepare for college
  • Keep you up to date with opportunities on and off campus
  • Connect you with career assessment and exploration to align your major with your interests and career goals
    • Start at Focus2Career, a career, major and education planner! Access code is "mstate".
  • Help you navigate college systems and processes including technology, paying for college, D2L (online learning platform), and more

Drop-in services

All M State campuses offer success navigator drop-in hours! Visit the front desk or Student Services during the following times: 

Fergus Falls

Located behind the front desk

Monday: 10 a.m.-noon and 1-2 p.m. 

Tuesday: 10 a.m.-noon and 1-2 p.m. 

Wednesday: 10 a.m.-noon and 1-2 p.m.  

Thursday: 10 a.m.-noon and 1-2 p.m.  

Friday: 10 a.m.-noon and 1-2 p.m.

Moorhead

Located in the Success Center across from Student Services

Monday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Tuesday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Wednesday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Thursday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Friday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Wadena

Located in the cafeteria from 11 a.m.-noon Monday through Thursday.

Monday: 8:30 a.m.-noon and 12:30-4 p.m.

Tuesday: 8:30 a.m.-noon and 12:30-4 p.m.

Wednesday: 8:30 a.m.-noon and 12:30-4 p.m.

Thursday: 8:30 a.m.-noon and 12:30-4 p.m.

Friday: 8:30 a.m.-noon and 12:30-4 p.m.

Detroit Lakes

Dean Yocum will be on the Detroit Lakes campus on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the times listed below. He also is available for virtual meetings on other days. 

8:30 a.m.-noon and 12:30-3:30 p.m.

Dean is available in the Student Life area from 9-11 a.m.

Any success navigator can assist you. However, if you'd like to connect with a navigator aligned with your major:

  1. Click the "school of" link below a navigator's name
  2. Browse degrees listed on that school's page to find your major
  3. Contact the navigator whose school contains your major
  4. If your program isn't listed, contact any success navigator
